Potter Township History Video Project

Potter Township is proud to present this outstanding video honoring our past and looking into our future! Our thanks for the project go to resident Casey Harrington for leading the effort, videographer Gwen Stonesifer for her excellent work and technical expertise and to AARP of PA, which funded this Community Project Grant 2019. Finally, a huge thank you to all of the residents that participated in interviews and/or contributed information, images, and precious time to share with our community.

In mid-December of 2018, when Potter Township learned that it had received a grant fund a video documenting the history of our community, we reached out to 20-year resident Casey Harrington who contacted longer-term and previous residents for interviews and to collect information and pictures. Videographer and archivist Gwen Stonesifer recorded hours of interviews and compiled interviews and pictures into a comprehensive video to tell the Potter Township story and to help us recognize the contributions of our senior residents and memorialize our past for future generations. The video provides younger residents and current leaders with ideas and ideals for future planning and policies and helps us inform new residents and visitors about the Township’s history and the personalities that influenced it.

FUN FACT: This project led Potter’s administration to set aside a beautiful space in our Municipal Building to showcase many of the pictures and memorabilia collected in the video process. Everyone is invited to stop in and enjoy the changing display of artifacts!
