Winter Storm Preparedness

Duquesne Light Company is always focused on providing safe and reliable power to our community. As a winter storm approaches, we’re here to help you and your constituents prepare. We want to provide the tools and resources needed, should your community be impacted by the storm.

Severe winter weather can immobilize an entire region. Even areas that normally experience mild winters can suddenly be hit with heavy snowfall or intense cold. Click here to learn how you can stay safe and minimize damage before, during and after the storm.

Power outages are possible during severe winter weather events, whether they’re caused by heavy snow and ice bringing down tree branches and wires or motor vehicle accidents.
If you experience an outage, please don’t assume DLC knows your power is out. If your power is out, let us know!
Ways to Report an Outage:
• Online: by visiting our website here.
• DLC Mobile App: by downloading the app from the Apple Store or Google Play.
• Call Center: by calling 412-393-7000.

Visit the Outages & Safety section at DuquesneLight.com for additional storm information including: Current Outages, Restoring Power, Electrical Safety and more. Do not wait until it is too late. If a storm hits your area, be vigilant, focused and prepared. Our DLC Team is here to assist you!

Duquesne Light is here to help, and I encourage you to reach out should you encounter any problems, or have questions or concerns.

The Commonwealth has restated that municipalities are exempt from the current COVID restrictions regarding gathering limits. The Township will however follow the current ‘worker safety orders’ in place by reducing the gathering capacity for municipal business to 50% of the building’s occupancy limit of 155 and will only use ZOOM for the Board of Supervisor’s Business Meetings, normally scheduled on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM.

The fire department is asking the question. Everyone living in Potter Township has either a Monaca or Aliquippa zip code. A small portion of your insurance premium goes to your local fire department. Unfortunately, your mailing address does not show what township you live in. Thus, Monaca or Aliquippa fire departments may be receiving these monies. We ask that you contact your insurance company and let them know that you reside in Potter Township so we may receive these funds. We thank you in advance.
